Microsoft BI and Analytics

The foundation of any successful Business Intelligence (BI) solution is a comprehensive understanding of the business needs and the data behind it. Without a thorough understanding of the master data and the correlation with the business specific data, often external to the business, there is no true insight. We have direct experience in traditional manufacturing, food processing (especially the wine industry), Software as a Service (Saas), pharmaceutical, venture-backed startups and academia.

We can assist in analyzing the current business needs or emerging ones, and determine if Microsoft BI is the right solution for you. Microsoft BI, while very flexible, is not by any means a one-size-fits-all or the answer to all business needs. If you don’t have data marts or data warehouse and would like to create them, or you have them but they do not meet their mission, we can assist in improving existing solutions or creating new ones leveraging the Microsoft technical platform.

We specialize in integration with other systems, both upstream and downstream, including database platforms (DB2, Oracle, MySQL), enterprise solutions (ERP, CRM, MDM, EAM, SCM, CMS) and proprietary systems. We have implemented sophisticated ETL (Extract Transform and Load) processing leveraging Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), custom applications, or third party solutions such as IBM CastIron™.

Following are key elements in our delivery methodology that provide for added value:

  • Actionable documentation, including well established maintenance procedures
  • High availability, including “AlwaysOn”, and disaster recovery strategies
  • Systems monitoring and predictive failure analysis
  • Personnel training
  • Data security from source to consumption

We work with a network of Microsoft professionals that can provide for all aspects of the Microsoft BI Analytics offering.
